Thuiszorg Groningen
Thuiszorg Groningen and building society Patrimonium presented their new concept for the key storage problem in the care industry on Wednesday April 19th 2006: ?Sesam open Joe.?
Sesam Open Joe is a concept that consists of four parts. The mobile telephone of the caregiver, the GSM-doorbell of Waleli, the Call-Centre Receiver of Verklizan and the key system of i-Products. The system is tested by one hundred people in Groningen until the first of august.
This means that caregivers of Thuiszorg Groningen can call the Call-Centre with their mobile phone when they are at the doorstep of their patient. The Call-Centre will activate a small cabinet near the front door. When the caregiver rings the doorbell a key is presented from within this cabinet. The caregiver picks up the key and opens the door.
Good maintenance of keys is important in the care industry, because it deals with the safety of patients and that of the caregiver. Wishes of the elderly people, the government policy and the ageing of the population are leading to more people receiving care at home. Building corporations as well need to support their tenants to be able to live at home for as long as possible.
